Find Beltrami County Civil Dockets

Need a civil case history in Beltrami County? Start with the statewide court portal, then follow up with Court Administration at the courthouse when the record is older, restricted, or certified. The Beltrami County civil court docket lists filings, motions, hearing settings, court orders, and public judgment information, in the order each event occurred. That sequence, called the Register of Actions, lets you tell a scheduled hearing apart from a later result. One caution: the docket is not the same as every document in the case file.

Beltrami Civil Filter in MCRO

The MCRO Civil filter names a broad case category. It tells you nothing about results. The Case Search form also offers an Active or Inactive status filter, date-filed fields, exact person or business searches, and statewide or county-specific locations. Treat a status filter as a way to cut down the results list, not as proof that a case was dismissed, paid, sealed, or resolved in any particular way.

The daily Beltrami calendar is a PDF, not a query form. It can confirm what appears on a given day. But it cannot replace the record detail in the civil ROA. And remember, a civil category selection names the type of case. It does not say who prevailed.

Civil Dockets: What They Show

A Beltrami civil Register of Actions is procedural, not narrative. The header may list the county and court. It may also list the case number, the civil subtype, the filing date, the status, the judicial officer, and the location. Later lines track events as they happen. A complaint or petition can appear there. So can service, an answer, a motion, a notice, an order, a judgment, or a post-judgment event. Public document links show up only where remote access allows them.

Case headerBeltrami District Court, civil number, subcategory, filing date, status, judicial officer, and assigned location.
Party rolesPublic plaintiff, defendant, petitioner, respondent, attorney, or appearance roles.
Filing historyComplaint, petition, summons, proof of service, answer, counterclaim, motion, affidavit, notice, or order entries.
SettingDate, time, room, judicial officer, hearing type, connection or role, and later result if entered.
Judgment areaPublic judgment date, status, satisfaction, costs, transcript information, or a linked order where available.

A document named in the ROA may still be off limits remotely. The entry proves the court recorded an event. It does not promise the attachment is public in MCRO, or that it counts as a certified copy.

Beltrami Civil Case Number Clues

Beltrami's official daily calendar has shown civil numbers like 04-CV-26-#### and conciliation numbers like 04-CO-26-####. The CV and CO pieces are handy local calendar clues. The 04 comes from the official Beltrami calendar's county prefix. None of this is a complete public dictionary. It does not cover every historical case type. So have Court Administration confirm any unfamiliar or older number.

CV
An observed Beltrami calendar abbreviation for civil matters.
CO
An observed local abbreviation for conciliation matters or a conciliation setting.
Motion hearing
A setting on a written request for court relief, not proof that the court granted or denied it.
Scheduling conference
A court event to organize future dates or issues, rather than a finding in the dispute.

What Cases Fill the Civil Docket

The Beltrami County District Court has original jurisdiction over civil matters, along with family, probate, juvenile, criminal, and traffic cases. Read civil results with the subtype in mind. MCRO uses the Civil category. The local calendar distinguishes civil from conciliation numbers. An event labeled "Eviction Hearing" or "Conciliation Hearing" is just a setting label. It is not an outcome.

  • Major or minor civil cases, which MCRO groups within its Civil category.
  • Conciliation matters, reflected by observed CO numbering in the local calendar.
  • Motion, review, and order-to-show-cause proceedings within a civil case.
  • Scheduling conferences and court trials listed as future or completed settings in the ROA.
  • Money judgments where they are reflected in Case Details or the narrower Judgment Search.

Court Administration also keeps family, probate, and other categories, but their remote-access rules differ. Start with the category shown in the record. Only then interpret a name, document link, or calendar label.

Beltrami Civil ROA and Pleading File

The ROA is an index, nothing more. The pleading file holds the real documents. These are the complaint, answer, motion, affidavit, notice, order, or judgment behind each ROA line. The public calendar is a third thing entirely. It is the working list of settings for a day. These distinctions matter. They tell you whether a motion was filed, when it was heard, and whether an order later resolved it.

MCRO generally makes many major and minor civil documents available. That applies if they were filed on or after July 1, 2015. Rule 8, redaction, and case-type limits still govern. It also offers additional public judgments, orders, opinions, and notices. These run from July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2015, for categories that were remotely public when filed. When an item is older or simply unavailable, try a public terminal or Court Administration. Do not assume a missing link means the Beltrami file does not exist.

Note: a free MCRO document can point you to public information. Only Court Administration can issue an official certified or exemplified copy.

Hearings on the Civil Docket

A Beltrami County civil docket entry can take several shapes. ROA lines and calendars may list a Motion Hearing, Scheduling Conference, Court Trial, or Conciliation Hearing. Eviction Hearing, Review Hearing, Hearing, and Order to Show Cause Hearing round out the set. Each setting shows the date, time, and hearing location. It also lists the judicial officer and role information for the parties. For anything still ahead, run the MCRO Hearing Search. Compare it with the daily calendar. Then read the ROA once more in case a continuance, reset, or result came through later.

Read the labels with care. A motion hearing on the civil docket is only a request. The ruling appears in a later order. In the same way, a conciliation or settlement setting proves nothing about the outcome. Find the order, dismissal, judgment, or final ROA entry before you say what happened. For date questions, the Beltrami court schedule helps. It maps the local calendar routes and what each field means.

Beltrami Civil Calendar Result Checks

Start with the local PDF. Search it for a case-number fragment. Then confirm the full number, the hearing type, and the date. Beltrami County posts the civil calendar every business day and refreshes it during the day. The printed courthouse calendar, though, remains the most current daily source. A row can vanish for a few reasons. Maybe the setting changed. Or the matter is confidential or non-remote. That alone does not mean a cancellation or a finished result.

The two tools do different jobs. MCRO Hearing Search queries settings across cases. The daily PDF gives a practical day-of list with room, officer, time, and case number. When something looks off, Court Administration can sort out a discrepancy, a confidential matter left off, or a last-minute change. The public phone line is (218) 888-5060.

Who Can See Civil Dockets

Court rules, not a county data request, decide who may view a Beltrami civil docket. Under Minn. Stat. §13.90, the judiciary sits outside the general Data Practices Act chapter. Instead, Minnesota Rule of Public Access 8 governs. It covers inspection, copies, remote access, and exclusions. So a public original may be open for review where the court keeps it. Remote access is the narrower door.

Access does not equal outcome. A case can be public while a document, attachment, identifier, or remote result is restricted. Rule 11 addresses protected identifiers in court filings. Ask Court Administration whether the right route is MCRO, a courthouse terminal, ordinary local inspection, or an access-order process.

Access limits are not rulings. A restricted civil docket document stays off public view for access reasons only. The restriction never signals that Beltrami County decided the case for either side. Never rebuild an unavailable document from a private source.

Beltrami Civil Certified Copies

Beltrami County Court Administration takes civil copy requests several ways. Use the counter, mail, or the proper filing route. A courthouse terminal can show more public electronic material than remote MCRO. Call (218) 888-5060 for help. That covers a case-number correction, an older paper file, a document you cannot pull up, or any copy question. A mail request should state the court and county. Include the case number if known, a case name or other non-sensitive locator, and the exact document or date range. Add the copy type, delivery method, return contact, and payment when due.

Visiting in person has its advantages. The counter staff can help you locate a public local paper file. They can also tell you whether an offsite record will take longer. That route also helps when a public screen result needs explaining.

Parties and authorized filers work through Minnesota eFile and eServe. A non-party should ask the office for its administrative instructions. The Beltrami fee schedule prices uncertified copies, printouts, scans, and screen prints at $0. A certified copy or instrument costs $14. Exemplified plus certified runs $28, and exemplified plus uncertified runs $14. Confirm the current fee before you send payment.
